Spotify is turning up the volume on personalization. With its latest release of features, the music streaming giant is making listeners even more in charge of how they discover, listen to, and curate music. These new features, being released around the world, aim to make your listening experience smarter, simpler, and more enjoyable than ever.
A Smarter Queue: More Controls for Effortless Listening
The Queue has long been a central part of any Spotify session, and it just got a serious upgrade—especially for Premium users. The refreshed design isn’t just sleeker—it’s smarter. Shuffle, Smart Shuffle, Repeat, and Sleep Timer are now front and center, making it easier to customize how your music plays.
Once your queued songs are done playing, Spotify will now recommend new songs right in the Queue. Not interested in keeping it?Your choice? No issue—Autoplay and Smart Shuffle can be disabled with a tap from your settings.
Had enough of That One Song? Introducing Snooze and Enhanced Hide Options
We’ve all had that one song we loved—until it appeared on every playlist. Now, Premium users can Snooze a song, which takes the song out of recommendations for 30 days without removing it from your library. It’s perfect for getting away from a song without saying goodbye forever.
Also being revamped: the Hide button. Before, you could only hide a song on one device. Now, when you hide a song from a playlist, it remains hidden on all your devices, providing you with more uniform control over what you hear.
Playlist Curation Made Easier
Controlling your playlists on the go has just become a lot more user-friendly. Spotify has rolled out Add, Sort, and Edit buttons at the top of all playlists so that it is easier to arrange tracks, edit titles, and even alter your playlist cover photo.
For fans who prefer saving tracks to Liked, there’s also a fresh feature that further streamlines playlist-making: filter your liked tracks by genre and instantly convert them into a new playlist. This feature is already available in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, and South Africa.
Collaborate, Create, and Blend with Friends and AI
Spotify is also making it better for users to create and share playlists. A new, more noticeable Create button—in the mobile app’s bottom-right corner—makes it easy to begin a playlist, work with friends, or participate in a Blend for an eclectic mix of musical tastes.
Premium users in supported regions now have access to even more social features: real-time listening sessions via Jam and AI Playlist, which transforms your prompts (like “sunset drive” or “early 2000s indie”) into fully curated playlists tailored to your vibe.
When and Where You’ll See These Features
These new features are rolling out over time, with Premium members gaining early access to most of the updates. Spotify has confirmed that additional users will access these features over the next few weeks as they roll out globally.
With these updates, Spotify is not only improving its app, but it’s reinventing what listening, discovering, and sharing music on a digital platform means. Whether you’re a casual fan or an expert playlister, these features make your music experience more intuitive and personalizedthan ever before.
